On October 1, the 2024 China Nonferrous Metals Forum was held in London. This forum was hosted by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association(CNIA), and co-hosted by six Chineseinstitutions, encompassing the Aluminum Corporation of China, China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd., China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Futures Exchange, Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Tin Group (Holding) Co., Ltd. (YTG).
With the theme of“New Quality Productive ForcesDrivingthe Development of China’s Non-ferrous Metals Industry”, the forum engaged in in-depth discussions on topics like how to develop new quality productive forces, boost transformation and upgrading of the nonferrous metals industry, and achieve high-quality development amidst the profound impact of global industrial changes and the continuous emergence of new technologies. Nearly 300 domestic and international delegates attended the conference. Attendees were mainly from large domestic non-ferrous metals enterprises, relevant departments of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, upstream and downstream enterprises in the relative industry chain, and research institutions.

Mr. Han Shouli, Vice Chairman and General Manager of YTG, was invited and addressed during the Dialogue Session on How New Quality Productive Forces Empower Non-ferrous Metals Industry. Mr. Han stated that the new quality productive forces boast three features: high-tech, high-efficiency, and high-quality. It was jointly driven by revolutionary technological breakthroughs, innovative allocation of productive factors, and in-depth industrial transformation and upgrading. Its core lies in innovation and development of key technology. Tin is a niche commodity within the nonferrous metal market. YTG has been deeply involved in this industry for 141 years and has been the largest producer of tin in the world for 18 consecutive years, accounting for nearly one-quarter of global tin production and half of China’s output. Through sci-tech innovation, YTG has accelerated its pace towards high-level self-reliance and strength. Through industrial innovation, YTG has been modernizing the industrial system. Through mechanism innovation, YTG has established new production relations. It has fostered a more market-oriented mechanism and an innovative ecological environment, created new industrial tracks and growth poles, and cultivated new quality productive forces.
When asked how new quality productive forces promote the sustainable development of tin industry, Mr.Hanintroduced the rareness of tin resources in the Earth’s crust, the environmental friendliness of tin products in daily use, and the ubiquitous and irreplaceable nature of tin. He emphasized that YTG, together with its industrial partners and all stakeholders, shall be jointly dedicated to the sustainable development of tin industry. YTG sees the safety of supply chain and industrial chain as a company mission and will continue to optimize production equipment and production methods, achieving a greener, safer production. It is striving to be the global leader in industrial chain, supply chain, value chain, and innovation chain.

Wu Jun, Deputy General Manager ofYTG,as well as delegates from strategic subsidiaries related to nonferrous metal raw materials, new materials and precision processing, and supply chain and logistics, attended the forum.
