Han Shouli Attending Board Meeting of International Tin Association(ITA)

On October 3, local time in London, Han Shouli, Deputy Chairman and General Manager of Yunnan Tin Group (Holding) Co., Ltd. (YTG), attended the Board meeting of the International Tin Association (ITA). During the meeting, the minutes of ITA Board meeting held on May 14, 2024, were reviewed and approved. The participants were briefed on the“TIN2030”strategy, the current status of sustainable development efforts and the work plan for 2025, the forecast for 2024 and the budget report for 2025, as well as related work concerning the“Tin Code”and iTSCi program.

Members conducted an in-depth exchange and discussion on the implementation of the Tin Code. Mr. Han Shouli expressed that the Code was implemented to better promote the sustainable development of the global tin industry and industrial self-discipline. Now, the tin industry is facing rising new demands as well as challenges given by the international community. Achieving a more sustainable, responsible, and environmentally friendly industry is a shared goal and aspiration. We highly appreciate the determination of ITA to initiate the Code and maintain its ongoing efforts.

After the meeting, Mr. Han Shouli had an in-depth exchange with the core team of ITA led by Ms. Helen Prins, CEO of ITA, on sustainable development in the tin industry, cutting-edge technological innovations, changes in market demand, and the direction of subsequent work.

Ms. Prins thanked YTG for its robust support and tacit cooperation. She highly praised YTG’s leadership in the industry with regard to sustainable development, green and low-carboninitiative, and sci-tech innovation. She noted that face-to-face exchanges and interactions between the two sides paved a good way for recent work and cooperation. She hoped to maintain close cooperation and in-depth exchanges with YTG to jointly influence and lead the future development of the tin industry.

Mr. Han Shouli congratulated ITA on the successful conclusion of this Board meeting. He considered the Board of ITA a crucial platform for the tin industry’s healthy and sustainable development. The meeting had a clear theme and practical topics, achieving all set goals.

He hoped ITA would:

1. Focus on member units’key concerns, find ways to create value for them, and solve urgent issues like future trends, tech directions, and industry standards and self-discipline.

2. Act as abridgein the industry coordination and standard-setting, strengthen exchanges with rule-making bodies, and boost the influence of tin industry standards.

3. Keep searching tin’s future applications and the industry trends, and guide the industry players to build a green, compliant, and transparent tin industry. YTG will work with ITA and other peers to promote the industry’s green, healthy and sustainable development.

The meeting was attended by representatives from major companies in the tin industry. These included PT Timah from Indonesia, MSC from Malaysia, Thaisarco from Thailand, Minsur from Peru, Aurubis (formerly Metallo) from Belgium, Fenix Metals from Poland, OMSA from Bolivia, White Solder from Brazil, MMR, and Bluestone Mines from Australia.

Independent Honorary Director Anthony Turner and Laila Zollinger also participated. Additionally, Gao Lan, Chief Representative of International Tin China, was present. Wu Jun, Deputy General Manager of YTG, along with relevant personnel from the Non - ferrous Metal Raw Materials Strategic Units of YTG, joined the meeting as well.
